Retaining
all technical and optical advantages of the well-known transom-mullion
RP-ISO-hermetic 60 facade system, the system range was extended
by two curtain walling systems (figures 1 & 2). In this
way, glass panes can be mounted on any bearing structures,
whether in steel, aluminium or wood. These solutions offer
the same benefits as the RP-ISO-hermetic 60 facade system,
concerning its physical qualities, appearance, system security
and assembly simplicity.

During
development of the RP-ISO hermetic 45 Omega and 60 Omega systems
preventing corrosion was of key importance. Consequentially,
experts including the Professorship for Steel Construction
at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany were consulted
throughout the process.
As
the sole supplier of similarly designed systems RP Technik
developed a special form for the double-sided pre-galvanised
profile. During the rolling process, the profile is equipped
with small warts and therefore only rests on the support structure
every 100 mm. The direct contact with the steel support construction
is therefore reduced to less than 1.0 % and the support area
is ventilated sufficiently.
In
addition, RP Technik imposes a Shop-Primer as further corrosion
prevention. The Technical University of Aachen attested safety
against corrosion for this construction method.
